The San Jacinto Plaza is the heart of downtown El Paso. There is a lot of interesting history behind the area. There used to be alligators that guarded a small boy statue in the center. You can find that statue in City Hall. (It’s worth visiting). There are currently no alligators, but the San Jacinto Plaza is where most of the entertainment takes place in the city.
There seem to be three different areas of the city. You could see the old town which has many old buildings, most of which are renovated. There is the Museum area, where you can find museums, a library, and of course, the Civic Center. Lastly there is the newer downtown area where you can find some skyscrapers, they also form the cities skyline.
