Cenarth is a beautiful, peaceful village situated in the north of the Brecon Beacons in Wales, very near the border into Ceredigion. It is found on the A484 between Newcastle Emlyn and Cardigan, and offers visitors a slice of rural Wales, deep in the fields of Carmarthenshire.
The Teifi River, which is good for fishing, runs through this village, and there is an absolutely glorious stone bridge that crosses it. There are also some very very nice walks. One of my favourites starts at a carpark at the Teifi Bridge and continues to the waterfall. If you then turn left, you follow a little path up a hill to a lane, then left again, downhill to the village and back to the bridge. This circular walk is about two miles in length.
Another good walk from the bridge is marked The Three Horseshoes, and takes you through the rocky and narrow paths along the river. It then leads you to some of the peaceful and beautiful woodlands that grace the area.
There is a very good pub in the village, called the Three Horseshoes, which does great lunches and dinners.
