Van Mieu is a famous ancient monument consisting of the Temple of Literature and Vietnam’s first university (Quoc Tu Giam). The Temple was built in 1070 in honour of Confucius. Quoc Tu Giam, was in the premises of Van Mieu six years later. This university was the first educational school for royal family members, and was later opened to talented students. This was also the place, where the very first national exam took place. The Temple of Literature and this university are in the list of must-see attractions in Vietnam. There are also myths about this place with all the stone-built turtles in the front yard. It will be nice to have the chance to know what it is all about this place, I think.
