I guess the title of the museum doesn’t sound too enticing but it’s worth a look if you’re in the Palm Springs area. There were some great exhibits from Western and Native American art collections and a good display on the natural history of the desert which was very interesting. There was also an anthropology department that focused on the local Cahuilla tribe, where you can learn all about traditional American Indian life as it was lived for centuries and view tools, baskets and other relics.

It looked like the museum had a large number of visiting exhibits throughout the year, so maybe check local schedules if you’re in town to see what’s on. Tip: Free public admission every Thursday from 4 - 8 pm during downtown Villagefest.
