Travel Tip: Gap of Dunloe in Killarney National Park

5 stars
Published on Jan 29, 2008 by Elizaoprisor for Gap of Dunloe

The Gap of Dunloe is very renowned amongst Irish tourists; it is on the list of every organized bus tour through Ireland. However, if you choose to visit it on your own than you shall drive west of the town of Killarney till you reach the Kate Kearney's Cottage. Interesting to notice that this small valley of the Gap of Dunloe was created during thousands of years by forceful glaciers and what you see nowadays are a few small lakes and a thin river. Perhaps you will find the first 10 minutes walk boring but the rest of it will compensate any effort. Magnificent mountain scenery will turn up to your view.
