The English Market is on this side since 1600’s and it’s been called so for an obvious reason: Irish people weren’t allowed to purchase their food from there. But now every gourmet in town HAS to go in the center of Cork to buy everything he had ever wished for, from exotic foreign foods to local specialties like crubeens (pig’s feet that is). There you can get the best-looking bread, local cheese and meat and my favorite - delicious min-quiches from a deli on the market for lunch. Some dishes may be expensive but I totally forgot it as the place really made my mouth water!
