| I might sound biased when I say this but I think that the tourist information system in Amsterdam sucks. We went to ask a gentleman working the tourist information desk if he knew where our hotel was and he just rudely replied that we should go ask somebody else. This didn’t occur because he could not speak English or that we were rude to him (we weren’t). This unfortunate event occurred because the guy was super lazy just like many of the other government employees in Amsterdam. The best way to find out good tourist info is if you just straight up ask the locals. You can tell the local Amsterdamians because they dress really nice kind of like the German style. I guarantee that they will be more than willing to give you some advice. |

i have to tell you also in some other countries... i guess it's about luck. In malaysia there were both helpful booths and there were also those who sound like they don't know what they are talking about.
