| The Kaliningad zoo seems more alive than others zoo’s in Europe and the U.S. It is both a zoo and an arboretum featuring the ginkgo tree. The ginkgo tree made a good meal for the dinosaurs of yesterday. If the animals are not alive they are sculpted in bronze (elk) or stone (ourangutan). And what is a zoo without pre-war buildings inside? Also the raven of the house is supposed to talk. I didn’t understand a word, but he’s supposed to say “well what” in Russian. What spoiled an bit my venture at the zoo was a fountain. It was not working at the moment and the feeling dropped a bit. |
