Sotto Ristorante and Lounge is a fantastic Italian restaurant on Nassau Street in the heart of Princeton. It’s a subterranean restaurant, you go down one flight of stairs and into a lovely room with slightly lowered ceilings that give it an intimate, cozy feel. The tables are fairly close together, but there is still a feeling of privacy at many tables with small candles on each table. Larger groups can be served. Reservations are not required but they are recommended, particularly for dinner on a weekend. The dinner menu is divided into appetizers, soups, pastas, chicken, veal, beef and fish. Each day has a number of different specials that the waiter will tell you. The lunch menu features appetizers, salads, pastas, chicken, veal, paninis, wraps, burgers and brick oven pizzas. The dessert menu is fantastic. Many of the desserts are stylishly served in large martini glasses. The drinks menu is extensive, with a number of cocktails as well as a wide selection of wine and spirits. There is a nice after dinner menu of drinks as well with coffees and liquors. The wait staff all wear black with bright orange ties, which seems a bit odd, but manages to look very professional. The servers are very attentive. On most weekend nights, there is live music of some type, nothing loud or obtrusive, but very casual and in the background. The restaurant also does catering and has sauces and other foods for sale. Sounds great. Long way to go for a night out though. We have a Nassau St here in Dublin. P'raps they could open a branch there
I agree, Jennifer, the desserts were awesome! I almost didn't want to eat mine!
I agree with most comments, its sounds like a great place to have an intimate meal.
Thanks for the tips, well written.
Dinner here would be good. Don't know if I would have enough room to enjoy the desserts. Sounds good.

Price range is around $14-$25 for entrees. Not super expensive, but not cheap.
So what's with the orange ties? This sounds like a nice place to eat though.
