Are you a party buddy? If you are and you are in Taipei City (Taiwan), make sure that you go to Roxy 99. It is one of my fave clubs in Taipei City. I used to go there on Friday and Saturday nite. I love the music there. It is more mixed; from rock to blues. The happy hour is between 9 – 11 pm. During happy hour, you can get 4 tequila shots for only 2,5 Euro. The lady’s nite is on Wednesday, but mostly it’s not very crowded. The entry fee was very cheap, only 8 Euro and you got 1 free drink. But they raised the price started in November 2007, from 8 Euro to 14 Euro. For Taipei City, the price is pretty decent. On Friday and Saturday nite, Roxy 99 is always full of people; at the bar or the dance pool. Some people can’t resist and get on the table and dance. Be carefull, the security might come and ask you to go if you do that again. There is 7-11 ( 24 hour convenient store) next to Roxy 99, you can just get your drink there if you want. A bottle of beer at Roxy costs 3,4 Euro, but you can get for 1,2 Euro at 7-11 and why not then! |

Great tip Chris! I wonder why it has never occurred to me before. No doubt next time I go clubbing I'll be looking for a club which is close enough to a 7/11 , we've got a lot of this chain in Singapore too, hahaha...Anyway, I don't drink that much, but my boyfriend loves clubs like this one, so I will absolutely add this place to my must-visit list if we are in town... And hopefully in the near future:). Thanks lots!

Ah, the article brings back memories or the occasional lack of them. But yeah, Roxy 99 was my favourite party club in Taipei (especially the music), should visit it again now that im in Taipei again. Too bad that those greedy bastards raised the price, earlier it was a real bargain. But nice travel tip for those looking to party in Taipei.

I didn't have much luck my first time in Taipei but this review sounds like there is fun to be found in the city!
To Tat007... you sound like it's the end of the partying part of your life.. come on... you can still enjoy this great place together with everybody... take the chance.. I might join the list volunteering for looking after your kid for one day... :-) dont give up on something you love to do.

Where will be best place to hang out in the nite times??? .. people like me sometimes keep the eyes open when they go for tours... taipei is one among in my asian PLACES TO VISIT.... would do that....

I am not exaggerating, I know the manager. It started when I kicked a guy's butt cos he was touching me and didn't say sorry. I was pissed so I kicked him. The security saw the part I kicked him, but not the part he touched me, so he wanted me out of the club. I didn't want to and I wanted to talk to the manager. The next weekend my friends and I (about 7 people) got into Roxy 99 for free :D Nina --> Ninaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa you also like party? There is one in Hannover called Capitol. We should go together and have some fun. When are you flying to Germany?
