If you're getting bored of the rather slow and cool caribbean lifestyle - as if that could happen! - head for Puerto Viejo. Known for the best beaches for surfing on the caribbean, Puerto Viejo is a meeting place for young people and the lively town has a lot to offer along the lines of cozy bars and surfshops - and all that combined with the typical caribbean feeling. There are also a few hostels, which are quite rare on the rest of the caribbean coast.
