Travel Tip: Alluring foreign dishes

4 stars
Published on Feb 6, 2008 by anja78 for Nicaragua

While travelling it is always interesting to try local foods and specialties. One of the local Nicaraguan dishes called "vigorĂ³n" may not be for everyone. The snack consists of steamed yucca that is served with fried pork rind. Some hair was still visible on the rind and I did not feel my rather week stomach was up for it. It is said to be really tasty, so if you can pride yourself on that iron stomach - give it a try !
