Westminster Abbey is one of London’s famous landmarks. The cost is £10.00 for adults and £7.00 for students. You have to have a valid student ID for concession prices. It can get crowded, particularly during the summer. Lots of tourists and groups make trips there. It’s a very surreal space to be in with all the tombs and memorials and monuments; it's very cool. It's a must visit spot for visitors to London. For an English major, Poet’s Corner was particularly cool. Chaucer and Edmund Spenser, among others, are buried there. There are monuments to other famous writers, like Shakespeare, Wordsworth and Keats. The architecture and design of the space is incredible and very memorable. There is the traditional gift shop outside with all sorts of memorabilia to commemorate your visit. Definitely get a map so you’ll know what you are looking at and so you don’t miss see anything. Take at least a full morning or afternoon to look around. Arriving earlier is a way to avoid some of the crowds. Services are open for visitors for free during the week and on Sunday.
