When you go to Zamardi (aiming for the Lake Balaton that is); don’t forget to have some spare time to go to the local museum called Tajhaz, yet don’t really believe the timing on the travel brochure or flyer, the lady who takes care for the entrance ticket was really late when we went there so it was kind of annoying in a way or two as we came there early, we had the time to go around for awhile, we returned to the spot and it wasn’t open still! Tajhaz is not really a huge grand museum, well don’t compare Zamardi to Budapest or other big cities, thus the museum is just about right :) You will find old style way of living of the Hungarians back in the day, there is kitchenettes, potteries, traditional knitting or sewing machine, very, very old items for gardening and farming, religious attributes, etc, but that’s about it; in a way or two, not really much to see, but then again, don’t compare it to big cities’ museums. You will be given a description either in German, Hungarian, or English regarding the so many stolen items from the museums, etc. The best thing about this museum to my opinion is the building itself; looking so out of date and so different to the other museums I have ever been to; the roofing reminds me of old movies. |
