Travel Tip: Basecamp for Mount Chirripó

4 stars
Published on Feb 12, 2008 by anja78 for Chirripó

If you're planning to climb Mount Chirripó, your are well-advised to base yourself in one of the small family-run guesthouses on the base of the mountain. Let the owners know that you're planning to leave early in the morning and they are very likely get up with you and prepare breakfast. When I was there we could leave our luggage in the guesthouse until we came back and the lady even did our laundry for us for a small fee. After coming back down from the mountain a couple of small bars and restaurants offer a place to rest, warm food and a drink, which is what you will be craving.
