Travel Tip: Green point market

4 stars
Published on Feb 22, 2008 by hosuli for Cape Town

Every Sunday there is a big market in Green point. The market is mainly selling some tourist stuff and crafts, but the good thing is you get to bargain (part of the fun) and you usually get this stuff cheaper than in the shops in town. You also get to meet some locals who actually do these crafts themselves which is great, some interesting characters there. I would recommed this market for you souvernier and gift shopping. It is nice to stroll around and talk to people even sometimes there is a bit hard selling going on. Market also has couple of food stalls and some car parts and electrical stuff in the back

Yes, bargain and bargain! It is fun to play this way and we always have to end up paing the half of the price offered. I guess if one has strong will power in bargaining, it is easy to take stuffs cheaply.. I remember doing this trick in Kuala Lumpur Chinatown.
