If you are flying with Royal Brunei Airlines, the transit times are often very long. The airport was a very unappealing place when I was there – people were smoking everywhere and the toilets were closed. There was not much shopping there either. So if you have at least 4 hours to spare, instead of waiting at the airport, take a tour, which you can prebook with the airline. Keep in mind that some nationalities are required to obtain a visa prior to arrival.

On the other hand, if you are flying business class, you might enjoy your stay at Brunei Airport. The business class lounge was small but bright and inviting. Make sure to try the massage chairs, they were top quality.

It would be nice to fly business class. I don't think I would like waiting at the airport here. The tip to pre-book a tour is good.
