Masqat: Muttrah Souq

One of my favourite spots in Oman is Corniche, an area saturated with souqs (old marketplaces). Here locals gather to sell their colourful and intricately handcrafted ornaments, coffee pots, carpets, clothes, silver and other items. I have yet to find one person who has gone there and not found something they absolutely fell in love with. It’s the perfect place to find collectibles and gifts for loved ones while supporting the locals. Beside the souq is an old fishing port and fish market where fisherwomen and men dock their boats and sell the fresh catch-of-the-day. The organic atmosphere and sea breeze revitalize my soul.
