The Palace of Europe is a breathtaking place to visit, especially if you're a visitor from another continent. To me it was going to the very place of international diplomacy! That one building actually houses the Council of Europe and the European Parliament. The Council of Europe is definitely on of the institutions that preceded the formation of the European Union. The COE for short is actually composed out of 40 European countries. And the COE is definitely standing for the values of peace, democracy, culture and cooperation. I heard that you don't have to be officially part of any meeting to enter the building. The security though was pretty tight when I was there.
