Travel Tip: Zejtun

3 stars
Published on Feb 29, 2008 by Vihren for Żejtun

Zejtun is a wonderful small Maltese town to the South of the Valetta agglomeration. It is usually away from the main tourist routes, but it is a really wonderful place preserving the typical Maltese atmosphere for centuries. The central square is dominated by the wonderful enormous parish church, with very beautiful baroque decoration. The interior is very dark and only little sunshine is able to pass through the painted windows of the big dome. Around the church there are nice small benches, where one can have some rest or just talk with the locals about politics, or attractions, or busses or just anything.
