The rooms were very average, the staff got my phone messages wrong, there was no hot water on one of the days and then the toilet broke… but it really didn’t matter. The Edgewater had such a relaxed island atmosphere that all minor problems could be easily brushed off. The restaurant was overlooking the beach and the breakfast was abundant, although somewhat strange for my Western taste. On some days of the week, there were great Polynesian shows, one of them featuring a local beauty queen. Massive coconut trees grew along the footpaths and it was scary to think what would happen if a coconut fell on my head. I don’t think it has ever happened to anyone, so please don’t let this observation discourage you. I really enjoyed my stay at the Edgewater
