One day when I wanted something a little different to do, I decided to take an airboat ride. In our area, in Volusia and Brevard County, there are quite a number of sites that offer such a trip. The one I chose was at Loughman Lake Lodge at 1955 Hatbill Road, in Mims, Florida. It was really an adventure. The day we went, we were the only ones on the airboat besides the driver. The driver gave us headphones to wear for noise protection. Once the boat started up, I realized why-it was rather noisy. It was incredibly fun. The rides range from about $38.00 USD per person for 45 minutes up to $75.00 USD for a night ride lasting 1 hour. They offer a photo safari for bird watchers for $210.00 USD for 3 hours.
