Galdhøpiggen is a must do in Norway. Not because it's the mountain with the best view or most exhilarating climb but simply because it it Norway's tallest mountain and must therefore be climbed!

No worries though the climb to the top of the 2469m tall mountain is not a hard one and the view is simply staggering. So there are plenty of reasons to go here :) There are also several guided tours in the area around the two tourist cabins that serve as lodging for tourist, Spitersulen and Juvasshytta. Here you can go on glacier walks with an experienced Glacier guide and you can taste some excellent Norwegian food.

The climb up and down takes about 7 hours if you want some time on the summit to enjoy the view. In summertime there is a small kiosk on top of the mountain that sells basic stuff and horrible prices.. they have to carry the stuff up by foot so I can understand it :)

The area is also excellent for other hikes as there are several large mountains around the two tourist cabins aswell as excellent walks through valleys and lowland.
