With a name like “Max Brenner” and a statement like “Chocolate by the Bald Man,” how could a person not be curious and tempted to check out the place? Max Brenner is a chain, but still has a cool, comfy atmosphere. I went to the one located at Highpoint Shopping Centre (Shop 6302, Level 3) in Maribyrnong at 120-200 Rosamond Road. Their telephone number is (03) 9318-8388. The website for Max Brenner is http://www.maxbrenner.com. I had a difficult time deciding on what to order from the chocolate menu. Everything really looked good and you can tell by all the goodies on view and the wonderful smells that Max Brenner uses quality chocolate in everything they make. I finally chose a chocolate babka drizzled in warm chocolate sauce with a side of rich vanilla ice cream. My partner went a little lighter and got a do-it-yourself hot chocolate with dark chocolate bits that you stir into a cup of milk. If I get the chance to go back one of these days, I think I’ll try their fruit pancakes with chocolate or a big cookie or the chocolate fondue options. Mmmm….choices, choices! I found the staff to be nice and the service quick. The store part of the café sells chocolate candies galore. I enjoyed seeing the big pots of chocolate constantly being stirred by machines and then sent through large pipes attached to the ceiling and ending up behind the counters where the staff worked. I highly recommend Max Brenner, especially to fellow chocolate lovers. There are different flavors, portion sizes, and price ranges to suit most needs and interests. I don’t recommend eating too much before heading there, though, because otherwise you’ll be way too stuffed! |

As always, you give such great information in your tips. This sounds wonderful and I am sure this place must be popular with chocolate lovers! It sounds wonderful. Mmm...
Terrific tips! I first heard about Max Brenner a couple of days ago. I'm a real chocolate lover, so I will definitely visit this chocolatier.
Holy cow! I am now starving after reading your post. I love chocolate and hope to visit this shop next time I'm in Australia. Thanks for the tip.
Yummyyyy... reading this tip makes me craaave for a cup of hot chocolate, which I happen to run out of today (yikes). I really like this type of cafes, where they serve normal, traditional delicacies in style and utter creativity. Thanks!! (But you'd be responsible for the next pound I gain, Jenn! Hahaha...)
