The village is located in the middle of the Brunei River and we took a public boat to get there. You can also get a private water taxi. The village was surprisingly large with kilometers of footbridges, homes, shops and restaurants. There were children playing, like they would in normal streets and some families kept chickens. Our tour included a visit to one of the homes on the water. On the inside, you would not be able to tell it was not a land house – there was running water, electricity, television and everything you would need in a home. It was a memorable experience – we witnessed a truly different way of life.
