I think everyone interested in Brunei’s culture should visit the Royal Regalia Museum, I found it very fascinating. It kept the full regalia from the Sultan’s coronation, including the crown and the chariot, as well as a lot of photographs depicting the coronation and the life of the royal family. We had a guide to give us a tour of the museum and for me, coming from a republic, it sounded like a fairy tale. It was very new for me to see the genuine love and respect the Brunei people (in this case, represented by our tour guide) had for their sultan; you don’t get that in a republic, at least not in the countries I am familiar with.
