If you want to see the most charming part of Strasbourg - La Petite France - it is best to walk. La Petite France is an island surrounded by canals, pedestrian bridges and old timbered houses. I discovered that Strasbourg was quite a good city for shopping too, especially La Place des Halles which is a two-floor shopping mall. They have everything from grocery stores to fashion. The nightlife is pretty good too. Most bars and clubs are located around Place de la Cathedrale, rue de la Croix, rue des Freres and rue des Soeurs.
