Travel Tip: Strossmayer Gallery

3 stars
Published on Jul 30, 2008 by lala30 for Strossmayer Gallery

Strossmayer Gallery is located at Nikola Subic Zrinjski square number 11.

It can be a bit confusing to visit the gallery because there are really no signs to point you. The building used to the Yugoslavian Academy of Arts and Science, but today it is the Croatian Academy of Arts and Science.
Here you can see Bascanska ploca from the island of Krk (the original one, the one at Krk is a replica) which is the oldest Glagolitic written monument in Croatia (ground floor). The works of art European artists (heavy emphasis on Italian artists) up to 19th century are on display.

Opening hours are from Wednesday until Sunday from 10:00am until 1:00pm. Tuesdays from 10:00am until 1:00pm; 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
