Croatian Museum of Naïve Art is located at Cirilometodska 3. Croatian Museum of Naïve Art is definitely an acquired taste, but I would suggest to go and see the collection in case you really would like to see something different because Croatian naïve art is unlike anything you have seen before. The most notable school was the Hlebin school with the artists like Lackovic and Generalic. The pictures look a bit childish but the amount of details is amazing. And while some paintings can be rather strange they were usually a commentary of peasants life or political statements of what was happening at the time. Also it is important to note that all of the artists were self taught. Opening hours are from Tuesday to Friday from 10:00am until 6:00pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00am until 1:00pm. The price of admission is 20 kunas. Tags for this Travel Tip: naiveart |
