Travel Tip: Cienfuegos Cathedral

5 stars
Published on Aug 9, 2008 by Elizaoprisor for Cienfuegos Cathedral

The cathedral in Cienfuegos is a real city highlight. I liked it a lot and many tourists seemed to like it too. The cathedral lies in the Marti Park and it only opens in the morning and the afternoon. There is no entrance fee, but there’s no one there to guide and explain about the cathedral history either. So I enjoyed a solitary visit through the very dark cathedral and admired the lovely stained glass depicting the twelve apostles of Jesus. There are no souvenir shops surrounding it and really not much to see in that area but you should nevertheless take the time to visit this cathedral.
