Travel Tip: A German town to walk around...

4 stars
Published on Aug 12, 2008 by alecram5 for Villa General Belgrano

Some 40 km away from Villa General Belgrano, there is a small town known as La Cumbrecita. It was founded in the 30´s by a German settler and it is one of the most popular destinations in the province of Cordoba.
The appeal of this town lies in the fact that it managed to keep its German traditions alive: You can eat chucrut and typical German sausages in every restaurant… Octoberfest is celebrated in the area every year as an important local event and there are still built to keep this German atmosphere alive. There are no cars allowed in the downtown area, and this fact gives you the feeling of being in smaller town than you actually are. It is perfect for relaxing at anytime of the year. There are a good number of hotels, small bungalows and also a camping site that is open in the summer.
