Bragança is a small old city in the winter cold NE mountains of Portugal. Its origins go back to Celtic and Roman Empire times. It is located just south of the Montesinho Natural Park where you can still find Iberian wolves. The gastronomy is delicious and people are warm and welcoming.

The Castle of Bragança was important in many of the wars with Spain and the city is the origin of one of the most important Portuguese royal houses, giving birth to the kings of the Bragança Dynasty.

Near the castle you will find a unique monument in all Iberian Peninsula – the Domus Municipalis. Built in the XII century in Romanesque style it is today a national monument. It may have been some sort of municipality of those times, where the good men of the city would meet to discuss important matters.
