The ‘Stefan cel Mare’ Street (Stefan the Great) is the main artery of the city centre.
If you get there on weekends, you’ll find the main street closed in front of the town hall, in respect of a calm strolling in the heart of the city. That’s why during week-end the street is filled with people passing by. Often you’ll find painters on the sidewalk selling their bad taste paintings, asking you to buy a glass painted icon or a kitsch landscape. You can also pay for a portrait, because during weekends, some amateurs are willing to portray you in graphite for a small price.
