Travel Tip: Royal Naval Dockyard

4 stars
Published on Aug 23, 2007 by TravelMiki for Sandys

The former marine base in the west of the island transformed into a nice little quarter with historic buildings like the Bermuda Maritime Museum and pleasant shops and restaurants. Don’t expect too much – it’s still very small, but for Bermuda relations there is quite something to see. In summer time there are giant cruise ships which are an attraction in itself because of the size! The maritime museum is quite big, too, and they have a dolphin pond that is just awesome! I love these animals! I don’t know why they have them there, but they can do tricks and they feed them every day around 11 or twelve, so be sure not to miss that when you go there! The museum has things like ships, maps and other stuff related to the navy – it’s ok.
