Severn Valley Country Park is 120 acres of beautiful countryside that I have been to in the Shropshire countryside. Running through the middle of this country park is the River Severn. In the olden days the area was mined for coal, but from 1986 the land was reclaimed and by 1992 it was officially opened as a Country Park.
There are 4 way marked trails in this country park.
I have walked around some of the trails, which took me through different woodland areas, meadows and on paths alongside the river.
Along the way there are bird hides that you can go into.
In the country park, I have seen all sorts of trees, flowers, flora and fauna and different animal and bird life.
At the free car park area at Alveley, there is a visitor centre and picnic area and toilet facilities. The visitor centre was useful giving me leaflets on the area and trails to follow.
At the end of the walk, there is a tea room at the visitor centre, where I had a well earned drink and something to eat.
This is one of the nicer Country Parks that I have visited and is well recommended.
