When I decided to get married in Caxambu, I had two churches to choose. The main church, in the heart of the city, is bigger and well-conserved. However, I decided for Santa Isabel da Hungria, a small church in the top of 126 stairs, in the high part of the city, from where you can have a great view of Caxambu. It was built in 1868 in neo-gothic style in an accomplishment of a promise made by Princess Isabel. The church is tiny, very simple but in my opinion, very charming. Due to the simplicity, I also could make the decoration with no exaggeration. Nowadays, the Santa Isabel da Hungria is considered a Historic and Artistic Patrimony of Minas Gerais state.
