Restaurant Blatten sits on a grassy mountain plateau with view to the Matterhorn. It's an easy 15 min hike up from Zermatt. I celebrated my wedding at Blatten, as I've spent every Easter, summer and many winters there since I was three years old. The owners, Leander and Simone, met each other when climbing the Matterhorn and it was love at first sight. In that spirit they run the restaurant––quick, efficient, with boundless energy, but the amazing food and the dreamy atmosphere inside the old cottage or out on the terrace radiate so much love and care, it was just the perfect spot to tie the knot for a mountain girl like me.
