I had an opportunity to spend two nigh at the Kia Lodge during an exploratory tour of the Mt. Kilimanjaro. Kia Lodge was my natural choice for accommodation and entertainment because it is conveniently located close to the Kilimanjaro International Airport. The lodge consists of several air-conditioned grass thatched cottages. The exterior and the interior of the cottages represent two contrasting worlds. While the exterior of the cottages pass for any ordinary traditional Maasai hut, the interior consists of ultra modern facilities and decorations. The cottages are extremely comfortable and refreshing, especially during hot days.
