Locmariaquer is most visited for its collection of remarkable Neolithic monuments including dolmens, menhirs and a tumulus – the large “Dolmen des Marchands” (a corridor tomb) is located here. The monuments are found in an enclosed park on the edge of town and an admission fee of €5 per adult applies. The park closes for lunchtime out of season.

The rest of the town is pleasant; it’s huddled around the harbour from which boat trips of the Gulf of Morbihan can be arranged.

The tourist information is a five minute walk back into town (behind the town hall and post office).
