Shopping in Mainz 3 stars
Travel Tip: Mainz

I find shopping opportunities in Germany quite limited in general. German people seem to be quite modest in their demand, therefore the offer is can't boast the choice.
Mainz is not a big exception. Moreover, I would say that for a capital of the Federal State the variety of shops and...

Carnival in Mainz is a very big holiday. People from those in baby cars to the oldest locals are actively participating in parade and the rest of carnival activities. They all dress up, paint faces and go to the main street to catch the candy from moving platforms.

If you're looking for fruits and vegetables you can buy them in the supermarket, and believe me they won't be different from those at the Market.
