Friday a Weekend Holiday in Kelantan
If you are visiting the state of Kelantan, do remember that Friday is an Islamic holy day and weekend holiday (also in the states of Terengganu and Kedah). Knowing this in advance would help you prepare your trip to Kelantan. Why? I’ve found that people in this state seem to relax on Friday as it is a weekend holiday. For example, many shops will be fully close on Fridays. If you have government business, then of course government offices will be close too. So, shopping and government business are definitely off on Fridays.

Grand Riverview Hotel
A place I recommend you stay in if you every visit the state of Kelantan is the Grand Riverview Hotel which was formally known as the Diamond Puteri Hotel. This hotel has a three-star rating, but won’t leave you disappointed.
The hotel didn’t have wireless internet connection, but that didn’t really matter because the room I stayed in had a standard wired internet connection. Interestingly, the air-conditioning could be operated two ways, the first was by remote control and the second was a control panel beside my bed.
The hotel restaurant served very delicious food and the service was really superb.

New Pacific Hotel
In the state of Kelantan in Malaysia is the wonderful five-star rated hotel called the New Pacific Hotel Kota Bharu. This one out of two five star-rated hotels to be found in this area. Because of the facilities and the location of the hotel, it is very popular with holidaymakers especially those who come from the United Kingdom.
The room I stayed in was defiantly not a sight for sore eyes and had all the things that make you feel as if you are staying in a palace. I was glad that the hotel had internet connections so I could check my emails, the latest new and many other things.
The nearest airport to the hotel is the Sultan Ismail Airport, which is a ten minute drive.
