The Malaga Lakes - escape to the country
The Malaga Lakes, North of Malaga city are a real surprise after the touristy feel of the Coast. They are a sequence of man-made lakes which act as reservoirs to make sure the coast has water all through the year and they make for a very picturesque day trip. You can walk round them or up into the surrounding hills, have good food in one of the many restaurants, or a picnic on the waterfront and there are even little beach areas for a spot of sunbathing. The landscape changes dramatically from one side of the lakes to the other with impressive stone shapes one side and rolling green hills the other, it’s definitely worth a visit.
