3 Kings Parade, Marbella

This Christmas don’t miss the 3 Kings Parades which are held on 6 January in most of the towns in Spain to welcome the Kings who are said to bring the children’s Christmas presents. We went to the one in Marbella last year and it was great fun. Families gather along the main road to wait for the floats where people throw handfuls of sweets into the crowd. Be ready to fight for the sweets if you want any it’s a bit of a scramble! Despite the chaotic sweet collection it’s a lovely atmosphere and there’s a funny mix of religious and commercial symbolism going on.
