It was just the whole week, biking, biking and biking. I was really fond of biking around in the area. The air was just so fresh, the town was very peaceful and the people were super friendly and helpful. One week in this town, I could feel myself a bit different. My body felt lighter, my mind got refreshed and I just got less stressed out. I guess it was because of the whole lot of sport, riding my bike up and down the hill, running up and down stair from the living room to my bed room and back, helping out doing a lot of work in their garden, like watering the flower, small plants and some special herbs and helping taking care of the pond preparing some space for the wild ducks to come in the spring time. It was I have to say a lot of fun.

Trying pear liquor 5 stars

One thing that I really loved was that we all were on our bikes. The wife of the neighbor did not get there with her car, but also on her bike. So we all biked back home but of course not directly, since that was a very beautiful night. The sky was clear, the weather was not so warm but not too cold to bike around and it was full-moon. So we decided to go along the bike trails along the lake in Iznang a bit longer than we needed and stopped by a spot where we could see the moon and its reflection on the lake. It was just perfectly beautiful, that I regreted not having brought my camera with me earlier. We biked back to our town after that and stopped by the neighbors’ house for a shot of pear liquor to warm us up, as they explained. That was also the very first time I tried this kind of liquor. It was just a perfect solution when you got so cold and needed to get warm as fast as possible.

Arriving in Entennest 5 stars

Arriving to the Entennest the couple was waiting for us at their door, worried about us because we were like an hour late as we estimated before. It felt a bit strange being in a house of a German family for the first time, but Conny and Willi did help me a lot in getting comfortable in their house. They were very kind-hearted, nice, helpful and very friendly, which I never expected from any German couples. My uncle and his wife stayed there for one night with me and left on Sunday since they still had to work on Monday. My adventure started right when they left, being alone with a German couple that I hardly knew.

Having dinner with locals 5 stars

They got back from the tour after like 11 hours biking and called Cony and me to come join them and Willi’s companion’s wife for dinner. So Cony and I just got on our bikes and bike to that beautiful port that I already mentioned before. I personally got a bit nervous because this was another thing that I have never done before either, having dinner with people I didn’t know at all. His companion turned out to be the one that borrowed me the bike from his daughter. He asked me if the bike was working well or not. Of course, it had to be after I came back home safely from that trip to Switzerland. Anyway, we had dinner at that small restaurant at the port and the dinner was just amazing. These locals didn’t isolate me with their stories at all. They always made sure that I would not feel lonely and left behind from their stories. I just felt great, even though I didn’t understand totally what they were talking about, but most of it, they explained to me very carefully.

Finding our way to the Entennest 4 stars

Getting back on the road, we reached this small town, Moos-Weiler, after half an hour. We actually got lost twice finding out way to the vacation house, Entennest, but the locals were surprisingly friendly, unlike most people in big cities, like Munich. They showed us the way to get there. We still ended up getting lost the third time and told a local working on his field that we could not find the place after 40 minutes driving around. He hopped on his bike and leaded the way to get to the place. Yep, I think this kind of stuff will never happen in any big cities. They probably help you and show you the way, but not like taking their time and go for a bike ride leading the way for you.

Another type of bike tour 5 stars
1 of 1 people found this review helpful
I couldn’t imagine how many bike tours we could create in this area, but there were a lot of other bike tours that Cony, Willy and I didn’t have the time to try out. Just like that one day, I woke up a bit earlier than normal, around 6 o’clock in the morning and saw Willi packing food and water on this bike. It looked like he would be going for a long bike ride or some. I asked and he said that he would go for a bike ride with one of his neighbors along Untersee, Zeller See und Gnadensee all together. I was a bit disappointed at first because he did not ask if Cony and I wanted to come with, but he said that it would be very hard and it probably would take 12 hours for the whole tour and there would be no big break at all, just some small one where they could have a snack and continued going. Wow, it actually sounded pretty good to me, since I love riding bike around, but I didn’t want Cony to be home alone, so I decided to stay there with her. I bet if you have time and really enjoy this kind of sport, you can go for many different kinds of bike tours all around Bodensee itself.

A trip to Bodensee 5 stars

When I just came to Germany for like 4 months and didn’t speak that much of German at all, my uncle asked me if I wanted to go on for a trip and staying at a family that he had known for a long time already in order to learn German a bit faster. I was thrilled by the idea of staying at a German family for a week especially when my German knowledge was really not that good, but I found the idea was kind of neat. So I agreed and packed my luggage for this trip. My uncle and his wife drove me to this place, called Moos-Weiler, from Munich. It took about 3 to 4 hours.

Biking around the area 5 stars
1 of 1 people found this review helpful
I always love sport especially riding bike around any towns that I happen to be in. Therefore I asked their permission to use one of their bikes to make some bike tour around this small but very pretty town. My first bike tour was with Conny, following Willi’s car to buy some more vegetables by a small shop that they know well in the neighborhood. You will understand when you start biking in this town, how it is pretty tiring to bike around. There are always so many hills and all the streets just get up hill and down hill the whole time. However, there is no seperate bike paths like in big cities, you will have to bike with all the cars and trucks and all that. But don’t worry, there is not so much traffic at all through this town and other towns in the area at all. Most of them are the locals, and they all know about the cyclists and are always very careful while driving.
