Spectacular views of the Alps and Lake Como from the Milan-Morbegno train
You can get to Morbegno in just one hour from Milan making it an ideal choice for a one-day trip. There were only two trains during the day so must go to the Milan Central Station to check the departing hours. Take the Milano-Sondrio-Tirano line at the Milan Central Station and stop at Morbegno. If you are visiting St Moritz in Switzerland, you can also reach Morbegno by train by taking the St. Moritz-Tirano line. There you can change to the Milan line and reach Morbegno. I loved the train trip to Morbegno from Milan as I got to enjoy spectacular views of the distant breathtaking Alps and the peaceful Lake Como.

A taste of the real Italy at Morbegno
In my aim of escaping the overcrowded touristic areas and discover the hidden Italy I found myself in a stunning small town called Morbegno, just one hour away from Milan. Morbegno was a charming and extremely quiet town with those typically narrow and cobbled streets with local traditional shops. Morbegno´s countryside landscape with idyllic vineyards, small stone bridges, magnificent green hills and pastures, was the perfect place for relaxation and great for nice walks up the steep narrow paths of the valley. Great place to stay for a real taste of the real Italy.
