Domplatz in Münster
The central square in Münster (or one of them) is the Domplatz surrounding the cathedral. To this date this is where the Bishop of Münster resides; the cathedral was heavily bombed during WWII and looks rather 20th century now. Do go inside though and check out the astronomical clock, dating from the 16th century. On Wed and Sat there's a great farmers market where you can buy flowers, produce, bread, an warm socks. On Friday afternoons there's a special bio farmers market where you can get the best fried potatoes in town. Also on the Domplatz: the art museum. [more] |
