Coral Coast resort holidays

I visited most of the major resorts on the Coral Coast as part of a travel agent familiarisation trip. While the resorts were very nice, most of them seemed to be very far from each other and from anything else. If you book a holiday there, you would be expected to spend most of the time at the resort. Sure, you could take a day tour, but a tour is targeted at tourists. It is not quite the same as being able to walk out of the resort and find yourself in the middle of the local community. For that reason, I did not think the Coral Coast was my type of destination. I am sure there are other ways to travel in Fiji, but resort stays are what most people do, so this was what we saw as travel agents.
