Small city with good attractions
The small Baependi, in the Brazil countryside, is a pleasant surprise. The city has great little waterfalls, churches and interesting architecture. Baependi is not a really tourist place as its neighbours Caxambu and Sao Lourenco, but if you are in the south of Minas Gerais state, a visit there can be a nice option. I would suggest a tour in the Nha Chica church, very famous in the region, which attracts a large number of followers from many parts of the country. Walking along Baependi is also a pleasure, once the steep streets and the architecture of the city is quite charming. If you have extra time, I would also recommend a stop in the River Gamarra region, where you can swim and enjoy the little waterfalls. It is a few miles from the city centre thought a dirt road, but the way is pretty nice.
