Ogre is a calm small town on the river Daugava close to the Latvian capital of Riga. There is almost nothing really interesting about this town except that the river here is really beautiful and since the town is small you can get in the nature very easily. It is a great place for a picnic or just a walk in the forests around the city. The main street is pedestrian, but very short and there are panel blocks everywhere in the center. In one of the panel blocks is the tourist information center, where you can get maps of the area and the best places for a walk. The city is nothing special, but if you are tired of Riga it can be a nice place to go for several hours of relaxation.
