Budget Tip- Drinking in Oslo
The Norwegian capital has been described, admittedly by myself, as the "beer drinkers worst nightmare", Bills for a single pint of beer are regularly between the 5 and 6 pound mark and as you can imagine this quickly drains your beer money. Norwegians have adapted to this by drinking at home and then venturing out around midnight. Be aware however that due to the countries almost draconian laws regarding alcohol you can only buy wines and spirits in the so called "Vinmonopolet stores" whose opening times, to say the least, leave a lot to be desired.
